Clarify health11/24/2023 ![]() While Dennard was pregnant in June 2022, the fetus she was carrying was diagnosed with anencephaly. On Thursday, another woman who left the state to access an abortion testified: Dr. “I survived sepsis, and I don’t think today was a much less traumatic event,” she said. After the hearing, Zurawski called this line of questioning traumatic. In cross-examination, state attorney Amy Pletscher questioned Zurawski on previous fertility procedures she had undergone and their possible effect on the health of her pregnancy. Zurawski herself spent three days in the intensive care unit. Several days later, she began experiencing symptoms of sepsis, and her baby was delivered stillborn. Her doctors told her a miscarriage was inevitable but that they could not legally induce labor until either the fetus’ heartbeat stopped or Zurawski’s life was immediately at risk. ![]() “Unfortunately, I was not able to do so.”Īmanda Zurawski, the lead plaintiff in the case, learned that her amniotic sac had ruptured prematurely when she was nearly 18 weeks pregnant. “I had wished to release my daughter into heaven sooner rather than later,” Casiano said. After returning from a recess, she said she commonly had this reaction when reliving the events around her pregnancy and Halo’s death. While discussing the ordeal in court, Casiano became so distraught that she began to vomit behind the stand. She gave birth to a daughter named Halo and watched the baby gasp for air and turn from “pink, to red, to purple.” Casiano said ongoing car trouble, child care obligations and fear of legal repercussion prevented her from pursuing an abortion out of state. Samantha Casiano’s late daughter was also diagnosed with anencephaly. Brandt traveled out of state for a selective reduction, which is not permitted under Texas abortion laws as it results in the termination of one fetus. Doctors told her this condition was “incompatible with life” and could eventually cause premature birth, endangering the healthy twin. Three of these women testified on Wednesday, recounting viscerally traumatic experiences in which wanted pregnancies ended in tragedy.Īshley Brandt recounted the moment while pregnant with twins when she was told one fetus had anencephaly, a condition in which the skull and brain do not properly develop. State of Texas are women who say they suffered from the ambiguity of Texas’ abortion law and should have been offered abortions. ![]() Thirteen of the 15 plaintiffs in Zurawski v. “Creating a list of every condition that would fall under the exception is impossible,” Duane said. A list of conditions, Duane argued, was an inadequate measure that would inevitably result in patients falling through the cracks. In opening arguments on Wednesday, Molly Duane, senior staff attorney for the Center for Reproductive Rights, also addressed HB 3058, a law recently passed in Texas that specifies two conditions that may be treated with abortion - ectopic pregnancy and premature prenatal rupture of membranes, or PPROM. “ something that guarantees physicians' protection if they practice within the standard of care,” Karsan said during a press conference following Wednesday’s proceedings. In addition to the temporary injunction, the plaintiffs are asking for a binding interpretation of this exception that allows physicians to exercise their “good faith judgment in consultation with the patient.” They say this would enable physicians to confidently provide abortions when a pregnant patient presents an emergent condition that threatens the life or health of that patient. The plaintiffs’ attorneys argued that the vague language of this exception has a chilling effect on medical care, with physicians fearing penalties that include up to 99 years of prison time, $100,000 or more in fines and the loss of their medical licenses. The sole exception to Texas’ abortion ban allows an abortion in the case of a “life-threatening physical condition aggravated by, caused by, or arising from a pregnancy” that “places the woman in danger of death or a serious risk of substantial impairment of a major bodily function.” Eight more women have since joined the suit. The case was filed in March by the Center for Reproductive Rights on behalf of five women who were denied abortions, along with two Texas obstetrician-gynecologists, Dr. ![]() She will also consider the state’s request to dismiss the case outright. Now, the decision rests with Judge Jessica Mangrum whether to grant the plaintiffs’ request to temporarily block Texas’ abortion ban as it applies to the law’s exception for medical emergencies. State of Texas, a Travis County district court heard testimony from both physicians and women who were denied abortions amid serious pregnancy complications. ![]()

We believe the value of our investments in OPI is over $2 billion. We expect to generate approximately $300 million in FFO from OPI, that is for those of you like math is a 60% return on investment. After cash distributions received, we have approximately $475 million of net investment within our other platform investments primarily an ABG and RGG. In the third quarter contributing $0.17 in FFO per share, as compared to $0.28 in the prior year period. Turning to our other platform investments. Our occupancy cost is at 12%, which is a level not seen since early 2015. Mills ended up at $677 per square foot, a 15% increase. We reported another record in the third quarter of $749 per square foot for the malls and outlets, which was an increase of 14% year-over-year. ![]() Reported retail sales momentum continued. The opening rate on our new leases has increased 10% since last year, or roughly $6 per lease. And we continue to have a significant number of leases in our pipeline. Leasing momentum continued, we signed nearly 900 leases for more than 3 million square feet in the quarter and have signed over 3,100 leases for more than 10 million square feet through the first nine months of the year. Portfolio NOI, which includes our international properties at constant currency, grew 3.2% for the quarter and 5.5% for the first nine months of the year. NOI growth for the quarter was negatively impacted by approximately 100 basis points due to the light off of outstanding receivables from Regal Theaters upon its bankruptcy filing. Kindle fire hd 10 64gb vs 32gb11/23/2023 ![]() ![]() I didn’t have any problems and gotten used to the layout fast. If you’re used to working with tablets, as I am, you’ll be able to type quite comfortably on the Fintie keyboard. On a negative note, the cover covers up the microSD card slot. That cover then is connected to the keyboard using magnets. There’s a cover part that protects the tablet and you can use it without the keyboard. But I do like the design because it consists of two parts. The keyboard cover is made of plastic and is not premium feeling. It’s not too much of a downside because the battery is supposed to last up to 400 hours and I didn’t have to charge mine at all while reviewing it. That means you’ll have to charge it separately which is done using a USB C connector. ![]() Sadly, it’s connected using Bluetooth because the tablets don’t have a special connector for keyboards. I like to work with tablets and that’s why I tried the keyboard. Amazon is offering it as a bundle together with a Microsoft 365 subscription as well. If you’re willing to pay a bit extra, you can get a Fintie Bluetooth Keyboard which is the same for both tablets. But if you’re into heavy multitasking and want to use Alexa while doing other things, you’ll benefit from more RAM. With single apps, I didn’t notice any difference between the two models. Multitasking is possible and you can open two apps side by side which wasn’t possible with previous Amazon tablets. The system itself and other apps like the Chrome browser, YouTube, and Microsoft Office run great. So, most games will run just fine, but often you’ve got to live with lower-end graphics. Less demanding ones like Shadow Knight and Horizon Chase run great too. While I did notice some heavy stutters when playing Asphalt 9, other games like PUBG Mobile run super smooth with HD graphics. I don’t consider them to be great gaming tablets but they’re decent ones. However, Amazon’s graphics performance is much better. Its CPU performance is as good as the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 which is a direct competitor. Of course, it is because the chipset is identical and the memory does not impact the performance much. My Geekbench 5 benchmark comparison shows that the performance of the simple HD 10 and the Plus version is the same. We’re getting 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. Inside the Amazon Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 10 Plus sits a MediaTek MT8183 octa-core processor. Sure, not the best of the best at all, but certainly fine for its price. The two speakers offer true stereo separation and are decent too. In fact, if you’re looking for a cheap media tablet, I think they are great options. But of course, in this price range, it can’t be as bright as the much, much pricier iPad Pro or so.īecause the tablets have a Widevine Level of L1, you can use them to watch Netflix and other streaming services with HD resolution. However, when the sun turned, I wished it would be a tick brighter. A couple of days ago I used the Fire HD 10 to work in a cafe and the screen was bright enough to use in the shadow. I do still own the older version and the difference is hard to see, but I guess those are the 10%. It seems to be an IPS panel with decent viewing angles and colors look fine.Īccording to Amazon, the screens are 10% brighter than their predecessor. The 11th generation of the Fire HD 10 and HD 10 Plus have the same 10.1-inch screen with a FullHD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. ![]() With that being said, the 5-megapixel main camera on the back is a bit disappointing. Considering its price, photos and videos look fine. When holding the tablets in landscape orientation, there’s a 2-megapixel webcam right in the middle. On their sides, we get a microSD card slot, a standard headphone jack, and a USB C 2.0 port. With 9.2mm they’re quite thick and the weight of around 465g is alright. It’s supposed to be as robust as the standard one. With the Fire HD 10 Plus, however, we get a bit higher-end plastic which has a soft touch to it. The plastic body of the Fire HD 10 feels a bit cheap, like cheap plastic. That’s what Amazon says, I didn’t check it because I buy all these tablets myself and don’t want to destroy them. While it’s a plastic body, it’s supposed to be 1.7 times as robust as the Apple iPad 8 when dropping it. We’re getting slimmer and symmetrical screen bezels now. Design & Built QualityĬompared to its predecessor, the 2021 generation has a much better design. For those 30 Dollars extra you’re getting 4GB instead of 3GB RAM, wireless charging support, and the body feels a bit higher-end. The standard version costs around 150 Dollars while you can pick up the Plus at around 180 Dollars. I reviewed the Amazon Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 10 Plus together because they are very similar. ![]() |
